Radiators are leaking

If you notice that your radiators are leaking, it’s important to find the source of the leak and fix it before the problem escalates.

What is causing the leak?

Often a sign of internal corrosion, a pinhole leak can occur when debris isn’t removed upon installation.

How can I fix the leak?

To fix a pinhole leak follow the steps below:

  • Turn off the boiler and allow enough time for it to cool down before attempting to handle the radiators. You do not, however, need to turn off the water
  • Relieve the pressure by turning off the valves at each end of the radiator
  • Remove the radiator, closely following the instructions in your manufacturer’s manual
  • Flush out the system using a non-acidic cleaner
  • Replace the radiator
